Tufford Manor is a retirement home that provides accommodation and services to seniors and others, who may need limited support maintain quality of life.

Our goal is to provide the residents with a level of service that is high enough, to meet most expectations. We will focus on individual needs whenever possible, given that the facility provides service to a wide variety of people.

The Retirement facility is on the second floor of the building. The first floor is Tufford Nursing Home. There is an elevator to the second floor, which is conveniently located near the front entrance. The front entrance is level and has a covered drive through.

The Manor has a variety of accommodations available as follows:

  • Private with private 2 pc. bath
  • Private with shared 2 pc. bath
  • Semi-private
Short and Long term stays are welcome. Pricing will be available at the office.

Staffing consists of Health Care Aides 24 hours per day, plush an RPN for the morning and evening shifts. Nursing service is supervised by our staff and many volunteers are available to help with programs and entertainment.

The facility is inspected annually by the City of St. Catharines. It meets all fire safety and public health requirements.

  • 24 hours supervisory care including medication administration, assistance to the dining room, assistance with bathing and the care of minor medical needs. Extra care may be arranged if necessary, to allow the resident to be maintained in the retirement home as long as possible.
  • Your personal Physician may attend to your medical needs or you can choose one of our house physicians.
  • Meals are prepared three times a day and snacks are available, in between meal times. Menus are prepared using Canada's Food Guide as a a measure of quality, to ensure they are balanced and nutritious.
  • Housekeeping is done daily through the week and includes bed making, cleaning and dusting of all areas.
  • Laundry is done daily and includes all linen and sheets. Personal laundry may be done for an extra charge or family members may take it home.
  • Activities are provided on a weekly scheduled basis and will meet a variety of individual wishes. These may include bingo, pub time, outings to local events and religious services, to meet a variety of needs.
  • If professional services such as physiotherapy or occupational therapy are necessary, these may be provided through Home Care.
  • A resident trust account is available to keep small amounts of funds in order, if desired.
